Getting started

How do I add a task in Adjurn?

Tap the + button on the Tasks tab, type the task title (e.g. "FILE: Skeleton argument — Whitmore appeal"), set the time, tap +. That's it. Adjurn is built around 2-second task creation.

How does the colour-coded urgency work?

Adjurn automatically assigns colours: red for tasks due today or tomorrow, amber for tasks due in 2-7 days, and green for everything else. You can customise thresholds in Settings.

Migrating from Clio

Can I import data from Clio?

Yes. Export your Clio matters as CSV and use the Adjurn import wizard at adjurn.app/app/import. Most users complete the migration in under 10 minutes. See our Clio alternative comparison for a full feature-by-feature breakdown.

Will my time entries transfer?

Yes — time entries, clients, expenses, and invoice history all map cleanly. We preserve original timestamps for audit purposes.

Billing & invoicing

How do I generate a PDF invoice?

From the Billing tab, tap Generate Invoice. Choose your client, select the time entries and disbursements to include, and tap Download PDF. Six themes available.

Are disbursements VAT-tracked?

Yes — Adjurn separates VAT-exclusive disbursements (court fees, counsel) from VAT-inclusive ones (agency searches), and the totals appear correctly on the invoice and in your dashboard.

CPD & SRA compliance

How does Adjurn track CPD hours?

The Reminders tab includes CPD as a built-in recurring template. Set the threshold (typically 16 hours per practising year), log activities, and Adjurn warns you 60, 30, and 7 days before the SRA deadline.

Can Adjurn remind me about my Practising Certificate?

Absolutely. Add an annual reminder for 1 November, set multi-window alerts (1 month, 1 week, 24 hours), and you'll never miss SRA renewal again.
